Honeywell YTH8320ZW1007/U Z-Wave Enabled Programmable Thermostat

I purchased the Honeywell TH8320ZW1000 to replace my Honeywell TH6110D programmable thermostat. The thermostat can be added to ADT Pulse via the normal process described by others...I told Pulse to search for the TZ45 thermostat and it found the Honeywell and added it as an unsupported thermostat.
I have this t-stat paired with my Vivint Go!Control panel and it works great.
I bought 2 to add to my new ADT system. Easy to install and work great with the entire system! So much less expensive than what ADT offered to put in. Highly recommend!

Then I found the installer code RF20 explained in the thermostat installation manual which states "To share the thermostat Node information with additional Z-Wave devices select 1". Once I toggled this switch I could add the thermostat to the remote using the normal process. The thermostat has good functionality and can be programmed at the device (with an installer switch set to programmable) and can be controlled with Pulse and with the remote.

  • critical components.
  • Large touchscreen display with backlight is easy to read — even in the dark.
  • Z-Wave wireless control lets you connect the thermostat to a Z-Wave network.

It was easy to replace the Honeywell thermostat since it has the same 5 wire connection as the previous thermostat. Changing the fan mode and cooling/heating mode is just a big toggle button which cycles through the modes rather than individual buttons for each mode. Overall I like the thermostat because of its functionality and ability to control with ADT Pulse and with my remote.

It's plenty easy enough that you won't need support. Programming was more tricky than the actual installation. Overall, I would say that this Honeywell YTH8320ZW1007/U Z-Wave Enabled Programmable Thermostat is worth every penny you spend on it. And the program feature allows you to control the temperature of the thermostat without ever having to remember. It is under "Advanced Functions" and the option is called "Program schedule on/off" (setting 0160). Also, you will have to go into the Advanced Functions to learn the t-stat into your z-wave controller.

This what I love about the Honeywell YTH8320ZW1007/U Z-Wave Enabled Programmable Thermostat:

- Touchscreen! Nothing, of course, like an iPhone or iPad touch screen, but completely responsive and solid feeling.
- Large screen so easy to read (I chose to keep the backlight on continuously (no timing out)
- Filter reminder, with many options (days running, calendar days, etc).
- Adaptive intelligent recovery
- Ability to have fan run all the day, only when unit is cooling/heating, or at a set interval
- And of course, the Z-Wave function. I'm using 5 year old software - Leviton CCTEP-20W ControlThink ThinkEssentials 2.1 Professional with ThinkStick - but I'm still able to set "normal" and "energy-saving" features for both heating and cooling. The Honeywell is immediately responsive to Z wave commands (the Wayne-Dalton took a few minutes go think about it...)
